Become A Secret Santa

samtasYes, you can celebrate this holiday season by sponsoring a child that will probably miss having a visit from Santa this year.  Children are chosen who do not qualify for assistance from the usual sources.  They are from the "working poor" families or families that have recently had an emergency and the money saved for Christmas has been spent to take care of the urgent situation.  Your generous gift of clothing and/or toys could possibly be the only presents for these disadvantaged children.
For those who want to shop for the children themselves, ornaments with the children's names, clothing sizes and toy suggestions are available in the church Lobby starting November 24th.  For those that wish to donate money (and let a cadre of elves go shopping), Judy Poteete, RScP and her helpers will be in the Lobby after each service to accept your donation.  Gifts for the children average about $50.00 for clothing and about $50.00 for toys, or about $100.00 per child.  Any amount donated is gratefully accepted, pooled together, and gifts are purchased for the children.
Santa's elves will deliver the children's gifts to the parents before Christmas (so they can be Santa and maintain their dignity), so all financial donations, clothing and toys need to arrive at the Center on or before December 15th.
